How did it start?
It all started just before the Rugby World Cup
1999,
when Phil suggested singing some Max Boyce songs in town for charity. John
came up with the name "Boycezone" and the rest of us came up with the good
looks and talent. It ended up with four of us standing outside Cardiff Castle,
giving each other the encouragement and support to do something we couldn't
do alone - dress up like Max and sing his songs on the street. We managed
to raise £12 from the first outing (Wales v Japan) building up to £350
for the Australia v France final. In total we collected over £1000 for
Vision Foundation (based in Ebbw Vale) from playing on the street and from
TV and radio fees during the World Cup matches.
If you've seen us play before or after a match and helped out - THANKS!
