Lorna's Tasty Treats

BLACKBERRY JAM

 

6lbs. blackberries

Juice of 2 lemons

One quarter pint of water

6 lbs. sugar

 

Wash berries.

Put in large saucepan with juice of lemons and water.

Simmer very gently until cooked and well reduced.

Add sugar, and bring to the boil.

Boil rapidly for at least 10 minutes or until setting point is reached.

 

Put into sterilised jam jars.

Cool, then put lids on.

 

Makes 6 lbs+
